Thanks to all who donated to Lenzie Old Parish Church Cyclone Idai Appeal.  The sum of £700 was raised.

More than 2.6 million people have been affected by the Cyclone Idai in Mozambique, Malawi and Zimbabwe, which has killed at least 480 people and left an estimated 400,000 displaced.  The devastating toll of death and displacement is set to rise in the coming days once the full extent of the damage becomes clearer.  Immediate need is for emergency relief for those who are stranded.

Christian Aid has joined the rest of the DEC in appealing for much-needed funds.  Working closely with their partners Eagles Relief and Development in Chikwawa District and in Zimbabwe with AWET PADARE and ARDEZ.  They are providing food, shelter, clothing, water, healthcare, sanitation, hygiene and psycho-social support services.  Special needs for children, women, the disabled, elderly and vulnerable groups will be part of Christian Aid’s focus.
