Easter Sunday at Lenzie Old
Have you ever attended a celebration of Easter at a church where empty seats were few and far between? This was an Easter Sunday service not to be missed. Shortly after the service commenced, we had the Flowering of the Cross where every member was given a daffodil to place on a cross placed in the chancel. This was followed by the baptism of Adam Alexander Petrie who made his presence known to all. Gill Drain then gave a talk on the signing of the pledge where members agreed to be involved in the “Year of the Young People 2018” . The youth of the church then sang to an accompaniment of “Jesus walks among us in Scotland “. During a short sermon on “Easter Reflection”, the youngsters in the church were given the opportunity to decorate a hard boiled egg. They had to give their egg a title and talk to the congregation about their creation. The service ended with some fellowship over tea or coffee in the church hall.
The service gave a challenge to the Audio/Visual team who had to produce and present Powerpoint presentations, play DVD’s and operate a camera which gave members of the congregation the opportunity to view the baptism and audio visual displays on several TV screens round the church
