As part of their 2013/2017 syllabus, the Glasgow Society of Organists is delighted to welcome John Riley, a freelance musician, performer and teacher based in Edinburgh, to give a preentation on ‘improvisations’. John will will demonstrate simple techniques and models of creating improvisations, together with a recital featuring improvisations on given themes. John will also aim to show something of how different styles can be achieved in music, and in a way that is informative and entertaining to a broad audience.
