Sadly, as they say, all good things must come to an end.
On Sunday 26th April our minister, the Rev Douglas W Clark Lth, preached his
valedictory sermon at Lenzie Old, as he is retiring after 15 years with us.
To mark this occasion we had a buffet lunch after the service in the church halls.
Douglas and Janette were joined by members of their family, the Rev and Mrs Mark Johnstone and the Rev Dan Carmichael.
We were treated to a song by the children from Focus and Cool School who sang
lyrics compiled by Gillian Drain to the ABBA tune Mamma Mia.
This was followed after the lunch by a presentation to Douglas of a wrist watch, an iPad Air2 and cheque, and Janette was presented with a basket of flowers.
Once the presentation and speeches were over we had an entertaining few words from Rev Mark Johnstone who had preached Douglas in to the charge of Lenzie Old Parish Church in June 2000.
We wish Douglas and Janette a long, healthy and happy retirement.
